BMW E38 750iL (V12) exhaust: x-pipe vs muffler delete vs stock

1995 BMW 750iL, 5.4L SOHC V12 w/ 103k on the clock. No, it's not actually a hybrid. Chopped the mufflers off and welded some pipe in its place. Excuse the screwed-up rear bumper and missing PDC sensor. Sounds pretty good if you ask me. Still pretty quiet from the interior other than a rumble at low RPMs, largely thanks to the dual-pane glass.

merging the two exhaust is where its at. heard a true dual and it sounds horrible it sounds like a echoing bmw inline 6. merging using x pipe def does justice

Definitely sounds better with the X pipe. Gives it a more smooth, Ferrari Columbo V12 like sound. I’m going with an X pipe backed by a Billy Boat cat back system on my E32 750iL. No muffler is too loud for a 7. It’s not an M3. It a more refined high-end luxury car. A subtle Columbo V12 sound will be perfect.

How has this car been for you in regards to ownership?
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I've put a lot of money into it between engine and suspension components, and I just replaced the alternator due to a faulty voltage regulator, but I'm hoping that all means I won't have too many problems for a while. It also drinks gas, but that might just be because of my lead foot.
